Materials Manager – Automotive Manufacturing (Confidential Search)
Location: Arkansas
A large 500-employee automotive manufacturing facility is seeking a Materials Manager to lead all materials planning, inventory control, logistics, and customer delivery functions. This role will oversee the full materials flow from supplier scheduling through production support and finished-goods shipment while ensuring strong service levels to automotive OEM and Tier suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all materials planning, scheduling, logistics, and inventory control activities for the plant
- Ensure on-time delivery performance to automotive customers while maintaining optimal inventory levels
- Manage MRP/ERP systems, production schedules, and supplier releases
- Oversee shipping, receiving, warehousing, and logistics operations
- Develop and manage a high-performing materials team including planners, buyers, and logistics personnel
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and supply chain leadership to improve throughput and reduce costs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, lead times, and material flow
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 7 years of materials / supply chain leadership experience in automotive manufacturing
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems, production scheduling, and supplier management
- Strong understanding of JIT manufacturing and OEM customer requirements
- Proven ability to lead teams in a large, fast-paced manufacturing environment
