Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight:
- Lead and supervise a team of Plant Operators and support staff to ensure all work is conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily plant operations, including process control, equipment monitoring, and compliance with all operating procedures.
- Ensure equipment inspections are performed and documented correctly.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities in alignment with production goals; ensure proper Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures are followed.
- Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
- Maintain compliance documentation.
- Identify and address any variances, equipment malfunctions, or environmental releases promptly and thoroughly.
- Analyze operational data to identify process inefficiencies or opportunities for cost savings and improved output.
- Collaborate with the Facility Manager and engineering teams to implement operational improvements.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation for process tracking and regulatory compliance.
- Drive housekeeping and 5S standards across the facility.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proven leadership experience in an industrial or process-driven environment.
- Strong mechanical and mathematical reasoning abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of rotating equipment, bulk liquid transfers, boilers, cooling towers, and process utilities.
- High attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with CMMS or SCADA systems a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or technical degree in Industrial Technology, Process Operations, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in a chemical, environmental services, or industrial processing environment.
- 1 year in a supervisory or lead operator capacity preferred.
- Must wear required PPE at all times, including steel toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and respirator when necessary.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in outdoor and industrial environments.
