What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technicians position at Movement Search & Delivery?
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventive/planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic system, cylinders and valves, air compressors and responsible for plant facility equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and maintain assembly line equipment, including End-of-Line (EOL) vision testers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and OETIKER pincer tools.
- Provide on-site technical support during startup, commissioning, and early equipment maintenance phases of new installations.
- Execute daily and scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, including inspections of critical areas such as the air compressor room, and update maintenance records within the eMaint system. Support main grease line operations until full handover to the Operations team.
- Generate Emergency Work Orders (EWO) and prepare 5-Why analysis reports as necessary following maintenance troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to sustain and enhance Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Clean Inspect Lubricate & Retighten (CILR) programs, ensuring continuous improvement of preventive maintenance practices.
- Manage parts procurement by placing orders as required and conducting monthly audits of spare parts inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Deliver comprehensive training to operators on equipment operation, setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair until the Operations team attains full competency.
- Lead quality maintenance initiatives, support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements, and contribute to Business Process Improvement (BPI) efforts by identifying and proposing cost-saving measures.
- Develop, interpret, and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with engineering best practices and safety regulations.
- Promote safety, health, and environmental awareness within the workplace, ensuring a clean and hazard-free environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leading plant-wide business process enhancement projects.
- Serve as a point of contact for technical inquiries and provide detailed information related to project concerns for internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Identify operational and maintenance challenges and implement cost-effective solutions to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.
- Skill, Requirements and CompetenciesBachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma combined with relative work experience is required.
- 3 yrs. experience in a mechanical maintenance capacity.
- Strong background in mechanical, fluid power troubleshooting and repair.
- Basic knowledge of machine maintenance practices.
- Strong Safety knowledge and awareness.
- Language: English (Fluent).
- Journeyman certification will be an added advantage
- Proficient in Servo, Hydraulic (pumps, Motors, Cylinders, etc.), Vision (Cognex, etc.), and Pneumatic (regulators, sensors, cylinder switches etc.) Systems.
- Industrial Automation Controls Systems/Devices (PLC, HMI, I/O, photoelectric sensors, limit switches, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in MS office
- Ability to multitask with the ability to prioritize
- System and data-oriented approach.
