Investor Relations Manager

Movement Search & Delivery
Detroit, MI Full Time
POSTED ON 9/18/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/17/2026

THE OPPORTUNITY

A leading global industrial company is seeking a high-caliber finance professional to join its corporate finance organization during a transformational period of growth and capital-markets activity.

This is not a traditional Investor Relations position. The role sits at the intersection of Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Valuation, Financial Modeling, and Investor Relations, providing an opportunity to work directly on high-visibility strategic initiatives and prepare the organization for life as a public company.

The individual will play a meaningful role in capital structure strategy, debt financing, valuation, investor communications, transaction execution, and public-company readiness. Of particular importance is experience with Debt Capital Markets (DCM), including debt issuance, refinancing, capital structure analysis, lender engagement, and working with investment banks.

The role also offers exposure to the process of taking a private company public, including IPO readiness, equity story development, valuation, investor positioning, roadshow preparation, public-company reporting infrastructure, and interaction with investment banks, institutional investors, lenders, rating agencies, auditors, and legal advisors.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond traditional corporate finance and gain front-row exposure to major financing and capital-markets transactions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Debt Capital Markets & Financing — Core Focus

  • Support debt capital markets strategy and execution, including new debt issuance, refinancing, liability management, and other financing transactions.
  • Partner with investment banks, lenders, rating agencies, legal counsel, and internal Treasury teams throughout financing processes.
  • Analyze debt capacity, leverage, liquidity, maturity profiles, interest expense, credit metrics, and alternative financing structures.
  • Evaluate financing alternatives and their impact on capital structure, liquidity, valuation, and shareholder returns.
  • Prepare materials for lender meetings, bank presentations, financing discussions, rating agency meetings, and transaction execution.
  • Monitor debt markets, credit spreads, interest rates, investor demand, and comparable-company financing activity.
  • Support development of capital structure recommendations for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Assist with transaction materials, diligence requests, financing models, and other analyses required to execute capital-markets transactions.

Investment Banking & Strategic Finance

  • Work directly with investment banks and external advisors on M&A, financing, valuation, IPO preparation, and other strategic transactions.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models used to evaluate strategic alternatives and financing scenarios.
  • Perform valuation analyses including:
  • Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
  • Public Company Comparables
  • Precedent Transactions
  • Trading and valuation analyses
  • Capital structure and leverage analysis
  • Evaluate strategic alternatives and their potential financial and valuation implications.
  • Support corporate development, M&A, refinancing, and other transaction-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate financial information and diligence requests from investment banks, auditors, legal counsel, and other external advisors.

IPO & Public Company Readiness

  • Support the organization through the transition from private ownership toward becoming a publicly traded company.
  • Assist in developing the Company's equity story, investment thesis, valuation framework, and investor positioning.
  • Partner with investment banks on IPO preparation, including investor presentations, roadshow materials, management presentations, and financial analyses.
  • Help establish the financial reporting, disclosure, KPI, and investor-communications processes necessary to operate as a public company.
  • Prepare management for interactions with institutional investors, equity research analysts, lenders, and other capital-markets participants.
  • Benchmark public-company peers across valuation, leverage, financial performance, KPIs, disclosures, and investor communications.
  • Support IPO readiness initiatives across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and senior leadership.

Financial Modeling & Valuation

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models supporting financing, valuation, strategic planning, and transaction analysis.
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses around revenue growth, margins, cash flow, leverage, interest expense, valuation, and capital structure.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear conclusions and recommendations for senior executives.
  • Analyze market performance and valuation trends across relevant public-company peers.
  • Support long-range planning, capital allocation, and strategic decision-making.

Investor Relations & Capital Markets

  • Prepare investor presentations, earnings materials, conference presentations, management talking points, roadshow materials, and executive presentations.
  • Assist with quarterly earnings preparation, including scripts, Q&A materials, analyst briefing documents, and investor communications.
  • Monitor analyst estimates, consensus expectations, valuation metrics, and investor sentiment.
  • Prepare briefing materials for institutional investors, sell-side analysts, lenders, rating agencies, and investment banks.
  • Support investor targeting, shareholder analysis, conferences, and non-deal roadshows.
  • Monitor peer earnings releases, investor presentations, public filings, and sell-side research.
  • Develop recurring market intelligence and competitive-analysis materials for senior leadership.

Executive & Board Exposure

  • Prepare materials and financial analyses for the CEO, CFO, executive leadership team, Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and private equity sponsor.
  • Develop executive-level presentations that clearly communicate financial performance, strategic priorities, valuation, capital structure, and market dynamics.
  • Serve as a trusted finance partner on highly confidential strategic initiatives.
  • Work across Finance, Treasury, Accounting, FP&A, Corporate Development, Legal, and Business Unit leadership.

WHY THIS ROLE

This position offers the opportunity to work at the center of corporate finance and the capital markets, rather than operating within a traditional reporting or Investor Relations function.

For the right individual, this is an opportunity to become a key finance partner to senior leadership while participating in transformational financing and public-market initiatives.

The company is looking for someone who can bring the analytical rigor of an investment banker, the strategic perspective of a corporate finance professional, and the communication skills required to operate effectively with executives and the capital markets.
