Supervise and directs a team of hourly technicians in performing duties to comply with the facility Quality and Food Safety programs. Supervise, train, monitor/shadow, and analyze activities & documentation of technicians who are actively monitoring, verifying, and pre-shipment reviewing of those associated programs and the products produced under them. Enforces good manufacturing practices, product specifications, and other quality related policies in order to meet product quality standards. Leads and supports pre-operational inspections and final end of shift or lot monitoring, records and assessments. Back up to other QA Supervisors / Superintendent.
Duties/Activities Required by Job
- Responsible for GMPs, HACCP, SSOP, and Perquisite Programs. Ensure records that are recorded by QA and Production accurate and timely. Responsible for ensuring quality technicians are conducting Swab verification of the equipment during Preop.
- Ensure goals and objectives are achieved pertaining to safety, quality, productivity and cost. Identify opportunities for improvement, share with management.
- Assure results data from all inspections are recorded on appropriate forms& clearly communicated to processing and QA management and for publication in consolidated quality report. SSOP reports daily, PDR reports monthly, TQS report Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
- Develop QA technicians, responsible for corrective action of direct reports counseling, discipline, planning, monitoring and appraising work performance, recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency.
- Responsible for the safety and health of team members, which includes, but is not limited to, safety, health awareness and training, accident prevention and incident investigations, and safe work practices.
Educations/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Life Science Field (Biology, Microbiology, Pathology, Food Science) or 2 years Food Processing Experience with QA, HAACP, Quality Control
- 3-5 years
- Basic HACCP Certification, IDV HACCP Training, Process Control training a plus. Strong communication skills
