What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant - Grow Out position at Mountaire Farms and Careers?
Primary Purpose
This position will support the Live Accounting Controller and Accounting Managers (Breeders and Grow Out). Provide back-up support for month-end close, daily and weekly reporting and other ad-hoc projects. Train in all Live Accounting areas to develop broad accounting knowledge.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs various daily, weekly, and monthly duties. Completes special projects for the Live Accounting Controller and/or Accounting Managers (Breeders and Grow Out). Provides backup to the Accounting Managers.
- Completes month-end close functions within areas of expertise.
- Cross-trains for all positions under the Controller umbrella to provide backup coverage as needed. Continues to learn about the industry while developing competency and commitment.
- Prepares ad-hoc reporting and reconciliations as needed. Learns the closing process.
- Promotes and maintains a safe and secure work environment in accordance with Mountaire policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in a related field.
- Proficient in Excel and able to learn new systems.
