What You'll Do:
Responsibilities of the Instructional Designer include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate current courses, instructional methods, and educational technologies using best practices in instructional design (e.g., ADDIE model, adult learning theory).
- Collaborate with instructors and academic teams to implement dynamic, learner-centered curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Design and develop instructional materials for in-person, hybrid, and online courses, ensuring quality, clarity, and accessibility.
- Create engaging, interactive digital content and assessment tools aligned with course objectives.
- Provide Canvas LMS support and training to faculty and students, fostering confidence in using digital tools for learning.
What We're Looking For:
- Education Requirements: A master's degree in Instructional Technology or a related field OR equivalent professional experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or learning technology.
- Experience: Prior experience designing, developing, and implementing curriculum and training materials for traditional, hybrid, and online learning environments. Familiarity with adult learning theory, instructional design models, and providing support for LMS platforms, particularly Canvas.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in instructional authoring tools such as Articulate, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, and LMS platforms. Comfortable with web design tools, video production/editing software, and the creation of interactive, multimedia learning resources.
- Organizational Abilities: Strong project management and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively with faculty and staff across departments.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional problem-solving skills and a meticulous eye for detail to ensure learning materials are accurate, accessible, and aligned with course goals and standards.
