Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a full or part time compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing family medicine practice. The NP will provide comprehensive primary care services while managing patients receiving treatment for opioid use disorder through Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and patients enrolled in our medical weight management program. The ideal candidate is committed to evidence-based care, preventative medicine, chronic disease management, and improving patient outcomes through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.

Essential ResponsibilitiesFamily Medicine

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses across the lifespan.
• Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other studies.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines.
• Provide preventive care, including wellness exams, immunizations, and health screenings.
• Educate patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and chronic disease management.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder

• Evaluate patients for opioid use disorder using evidence-based assessment tools.
• Develop individualized MAT treatment plans utilizing medications such as buprenorphine in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up visits and urine drug screening.
• Assess medication adherence, effectiveness, and potential adverse effects.
• Coordinate care with behavioral health providers, counselors, and community resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Promote recovery-oriented, nonjudgmental, patient-centered care.

Medical Weight Management

• Evaluate patients seeking medical weight loss treatment.
• Develop individualized weight management plans incorporating nutrition, exercise, behavioral modification, and pharmacologic therapies when appropriate.
• Prescribe and monitor FDA-approved weight loss medications.
• Monitor patient progress, laboratory values, and medication effectiveness.
• Provide ongoing counseling and support to encourage sustainable lifestyle changes.
• Collaborate with dietitians, health coaches, and other healthcare professionals as needed.

General Clinical Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, medical assistants, and administrative personnel.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, DEA, state regulations, and clinic policies.
• Respond appropriately to patient concerns, medication refill requests, and follow-up communications.

QualificationsRequired

• Current Nurse Practitioner/Physicain Assistant license in the applicable state.
• Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Physician Assistant.
• Current DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances.
• Eligibility to prescribe buprenorphine for opioid use disorder in accordance with current federal and state regulations.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Manual dexterity sufficient for clinical examinations and documentation.

Benefits

• Competitive salary $55,000 to $115,000
