Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide clinical support across outpatient settings, including addiction, GLP1 injections, and family medicine. Your expertise will help streamline patient intake, perform vital signs assessments, and medication administration, and ensure seamless medical administrative support. Office hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30AM to 5:00PM and Friday 7:30AM to 1:00PM. Paid holidays and paid time off, no weekends or evenings.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake processes to ensure accurate documentation.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining steps and ensuring comfort.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Operate EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems efficiently to document patient encounters accurately while maintaining confidentiality.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as dressing changes, specimen collection and EKG.
- Scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records.
- Collecting copayments and past due balances
- Support inpatient care teams by assisting with physiology assessments or hospital rounds in complex environments like Level I Trauma Centers or Geriatrics units.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding practices.
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical administrative tasks such as intake processing and vital signs documentation.
