What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dir Med Surg/ICU position at Mountain West?

Currently we are looking to fill the vital role of Dir. Med Surg/ICU.
Responsible for planning and administering activities of a nursing unit or floor and is responsible for the recommendation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures in these areas. Responsible for keeping the CNO informed of both progress and potential problems. Responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery. Maintains operational aspects of the patient care department/departments in collaboration with other service areas.
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate form an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah or equivalency required. *If licensed in a compact state a Utah State license must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- BSN
- BLS, ALS & PALS certification or must obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Two to five years of clinical experience (preferably in the area of application); experience in patient care management.
- Management experience required
- Must have leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication.
- Skill and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for the specific age and type of patient population served.
