Compliance Director

Position Description: Job Summary:
The Compliance Director is responsible for leading, developing, and overseeing the company's Compliance Management System (CMS), ensuring alignment with all applicable federal, state, municipal, and agency requirements. This role involves performing compliance testing, reviewing loan data, supporting quality control initiatives, coordinating with internal business units and providing oversight of regulatory changes. The Compliance Director reports to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).

Compliance Management System (CMS):
The Compliance Director will work directly with the CCO in the creation, implementation and ongoing management of the CMS which includes all aspects of the CMSs underlying compliance components, including:
o Development and oversight of policies and procedures.
o Vendor Management
o Fair Lending
o AML/BSA/OFAC/Patriot Act
o All aspects of HMDA and Mortgage Call Report reporting and accuracy
o Advertising/Marketing compliance
o Servicing compliance assistance
o Licensing oversight and coordination with strategic planning
o Complaint reporting and analysis
o Risk assessments
o Issues management and documentation
o Exam oversight
o Third-party reviews and audits
o Monitoring and Testing
o Training Program
o Whistleblower reporting development
o Matrices which provide clear direction for affected business units
o Board of Directors reporting
o Coordination and clear communication with the organizations business units

Required Qualifications:
Professional certifications, training, and participation on advisory and regulatory boards are highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset.
Proven experience in compliance management within the mortgage industry.
Previous use and depth of experience with LOS systems, business rules, reviews and settings.
Strong experience drafting policies, procedures, information matrices and guides.

Skilled in conducting audits, compliance testing, and root-cause analysis.
Ability to create and implement corrective action plans based on QC findings.
Proficient in preparing and submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) and working with a SAR Review Committee.
Exceptional organizational and reporting skills to support reviews, documentation, and presentations to senior management.
Ability to interpret and implement regulatory changes and assess impact on internal policies.
Excellent communication skills for cross-department collaboration and policy reporting.
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Experience in training and educating teams on compliance topics and updates.
Ability to handle sensitive policy matters, including workplace conduct and harassment reporting.
