School Nurse

Position Summary
The school nurse provides direct nursing care to students, manages chronic health conditions, responds to emergencies, promotes health education, and helps ensure a safe and healthy school environment.
Easthampton Public Schools – Commitments as an Easthampton Nurse
1.Assess and treat students with minor injuries or illnesses
2.Administer medications and first aid according to school policy
3.Monitor and manage student health records and immunization compliance
4.Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions
5.Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate emergency procedures
6.Communicate with parents, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers about student health concerns
7.Provide health education and wellness guidance to students and staff
8.Conduct screenings for vision, hearing, height, weight, or other required assessments
9.Maintain confidentiality and comply with health and education regulations
10.Support infection prevention and control efforts within the school
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.DESE license: Professional Support Personnel, School Nurse, All Levels required.
