JOB SUMMARY:
Provide classroom, targeted instruction for middle school students in electives in the District’s Middle School Summer School Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of: 6th-8th grade curriculum.
Skilled in: Teaching middle school students.
Ability to:
- Design or adopt curriculum and assessment tools for 6th-8th grade students
- Manage educational assistant(s)
- Maintain classroom discipline
- Demonstrate classroom organization and behavior management
- Communicate orally and in writing and build relationships with staff, students and parents
Experience: Successful experience teaching middle school students, diverse students,preference given to bilingual candidates.
Education: Completion of a higher education bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in education/ teaching and a current Oregon teaching license valid for 6-8 grades.
Certification Required: A valid teaching license issued by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission valid for teaching 6-8th grades.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Align curriculum with grade level standards.
- Analyze student performance test results and create curriculum and use online programs to help students reach grade level standards.
- Work in PLC’s.
- Collaborate with other members of the staff.
- Attend all staff in service meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Language Skills: Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language. Ability to write memoranda, correspondence, lessons plans, reports, and student achievement summaries in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed, but basic, written or oral instructions in English. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisor(s), staff, students, parents and community.

Licensed, TEMPORARY summer school position, Location Mountain View Middle School. ONLY INTERNAL CANDIDATES NEED APPLY.
WORK DAYS/HOURS:
August 3, 2026 through August 20, 2026; Monday through Thursday student facing, plus 1 professional development / prep day.
ALL DATES, HOURS AND EMPLOYMENT CONTINGENT ON ENROLLMENT AND GRANT FUNDING.
SALARY:
Paid by timesheet at the per diem rate of the 2026-2027 Licensed Salary Schedule. Salary range $52,339 - $107,622.
