Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in Baylor treatment to join our healthcare team. As an LPN Baylor Treatment Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing support, administer treatments, and ensure the safety and well-being of our patients. Your expertise in medical documentation, medication administration, and patient assessment will be vital to delivering high-quality care in a structured and supportive environment.
Duties
- Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual needs.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy with precision and adherence to protocols.
- Assist with complex procedures including catheterization, venipuncture, sterile processing, and airway management.
- Document patient care accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans for patients with diverse needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities.
- Provide specialized care for patients requiring memory care, hospice support, or acute pain management within inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Support discharge planning and case management efforts to ensure seamless transitions across care levels including post-acute and home & community care.
- Maintain sterile techniques during procedures like suturing or spinal taps while ensuring infection control standards are upheld.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems), particularly Epic or Cerner platforms.
- Proven critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center environments; familiarity with Level II trauma protocols is advantageous.
- Strong background in diverse nursing fields such as medical-surgical, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and internal medicine.
- Expertise in medication administration techniques including injections, IV insertion/infusion, and catheter care.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation and billing processes.
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques involving vital signs, physiology knowledge, and diagnostic evaluation.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or complex conditions such as dementia or infectious diseases.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and health coaching; capable of working efficiently in fast-paced urgent or outpatient care settings.
