Position Title: Teacher’s Aide
Reports To: Lead Teacher and Director
Location: Mountain View Daycare & Preschool
Employment Type: Part-Time

Hours and Days: 7:15am - 12:45pm M-F (hours may be subject to change based on ratio and/or need)

Position Summary

At Mountain View Daycare & Preschool, we believe in helping children grow in faith, love, and learning. The Teacher’s Aide supports the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where every child can thrive emotionally, socially, academically, and spiritually. This position assists in daily classroom activities, ensures a safe and engaging atmosphere, and models Christian values through words and actions. This position will most cover breaks, recesses, and aide where applicable around the center

Key Responsibilities

• Opens the Daycare (Lights, doors, creating cleaning solution for all classrooms)
• Provides supervision for children at opening/Closing of the center
• Supervise and engage with children during classroom, outdoor, and meal times.
• Foster a positive, loving, and faith-filled classroom environment.
• Assist with maintaining classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety.
• Help prepare instructional materials and set up learning centers.
• Encourage positive behavior and guide children with patience and kindness.
• Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher and Director about student needs and concerns.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and special events as required.
• Model Christian values in daily interactions with children, families, and coworkers.
• Uphold the mission and values of Mountain View Daycare & Preschool at all times.
• Must be willing to work with all age groups - 16 months up to 5 years old

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or early childhood coursework preferred).
• Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or church setting.
• A nurturing, patient, and dependable personality.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and take direction.
• Commitment to providing a Christ-centered education and care experience.
• Must pass background checks and meet all state licensing requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in active play with children.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and move easily throughout the day.
