Come join this incredible opportunity to be a part of a fresh start full of growth potential. We are a mixed animal practice searching for a self-motivated, passionate, energetic Veterinary Technician to join our small team as we make a difference in the lives of pets and communities.
Responsibilities
- Assist Dr. Wilson during medical examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- See your own appointments for vaccines, rechecks, triages, and more.
- Collect and process laboratory samples, perform medical collections, and maintain accurate records in veterinary software systems.
- Oversee hospitalized patients and ensure that they receive a high level of care.
- Maintain compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines related to medication handling and animal treatment protocols.
- Assist with laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging preparation, and other technical procedures requiring veterinary terminology knowledge.
- Assist in surgeries by being part of the surgical procedure or providing appropriate anesthesia. Be able to suture patients appropriately.
- Provide exceptional customer service by educating pet owners on health care plans, post-operative instructions, and preventive medicine.
- Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring hospitalized animals and assisting with emergency procedures when needed.
Experience
- A current Arkansas Veterinary Technician license is required
- Proven kennel experience along with strong animal husbandry skills demonstrates your ability to care for diverse species including dogs, cats, and equines.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and animal anatomy ensures accurate communication and technical proficiency.
- Hands-on experience with dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods is advantageous.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and veterinary critical care practices supports high-quality patient outcomes.
- Strong customer service skills combined with effective client communication foster trusting relationships with pet owners.
- Additional skills in large animal experience or advanced pet training can further contribute to our team’s versatility.
