The Before and Aftercare Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the before and after school program at Mountain School. The Before and Aftercare Supervisor serves as the primary contact to the school administration, Before and Aftercare staff, Mountain School faculty, and parents. The Before and Aftercare Supervisor must have the competencies, skills, and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the Mountain School mission.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer the day-to-day operations of the Before and Aftercare program, ensuring that all children are engaged in fun and safe activities.
- Assist in the training of and monitoring of Before and Aftercare staff and modifying staff schedules as necessary to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
- Develop relationships with the school and community that communicate the goals of the program and the needs of the children enrolled.
- Promote a team concept through a positive approach to supervision, communication, and interactions with others. Maintain professional and ongoing communication with parents and school staff.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate, educational and fun activities for all children, in a variety of settings.
- Must be able to maintain accurate bookkeeping through the iCare billing software program for invoicing parents monthly and annually.
- Follow school safety protocols.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- Higher education preferred, Associate’s or Bachelor's degree related to youth development, early childhood education, or a child development credential.
- A minimum of 12 month’s experience working with children in a child-related field
- One year of staff supervisory experience preferred
- Must possess oral, auditory, computer literacy, and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults.
- Positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS (UPON HIRING)
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain prior to start of school)
- Additional hours of training and relevant professional development expected throughout the school year
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must have ability to use moderate physical exertion in lifting and moving equipment, must be physically able to lead and participate in active sports and games in varied weather conditions throughout the year. Beforecare (Mon - Fri)
7:15am - 8:15am
Aftercare (Mon - Thurs)
3:00pm - 5:30pm
Aftercare (Friday)
12:15pm - 5:30pm
*Closed on snow days, holidays, and weekends
*Friday schedule applies during Parent-Teacher Conferences and other early release days
SUPERVISOR SCHEDULE (~26 hours/week)
Beforecare (Mon - Fri)
7:00am - 8:15am (Before care hours are negotiable)
Aftercare (Mon - Thurs)
2:15pm - 5:45pm
Aftercare (Friday)
12:15pm - 5:45pm
RATE OF PAY & BENEFITS:
- Rate of pay depends on experience (Range: $22-$25 per hour)
- This position meets ASRS eligibility requirements
- Paid sick leave
CONTRACT DATES: August 4, 2026 - May 28, 2027
