Summary
The Mill Turn Setup Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mill-turn machines to produce precision components according to customer specifications and quality standards. This position performs complete machine setups, verifies tooling and offsets, performs in-process inspections, and supports efficient production.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform complete setups on CNC mill-turn machines, including loading tooling, setting work offsets, tool offsets, and establishing machine parameters.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and CNC programs.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, workholding, and fixtures based on job requirements.
- Verify first-piece and in-process dimensions using precision measuring instruments.
- Make necessary tool and offset adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and machining issues and make adjustments to improve production efficiency.
- Monitor machine operation and inspect parts throughout the production run.
- Maintain accurate setup information and communicate issues or required changes to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.

- Mill-Turn: Mazak Integrex i-100, i-150, i-200; Mazak Quick Turn QT-100 and QT-200
Experience / Qualifications
- 4–7 years of CNC machining and setup experience, preferably in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience setting up CNC mill-turn equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CNC programs.
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, tooling applications, feeds and speeds, and workholding.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and setup issues independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and tooling up to approximately 50 pounds.
- Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements and work in a manufacturing environment where exposure to noise, metal chips, coolant, and machinery is present.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
