What are the responsibilities and job description for the Panel Department Lead position at Mountain Lumber Co?
Position Overview:
Fast paced lead position supervising the panel department and manufacturing panels. Organized and focused individual with an increased level of attention to detail. Quality driven and results oriented individual with exceptional time management skills. Effective communicator with the desire to grow within the company. Must be willing to work Saturday as needed.
Principle/Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Prior experience in supervisor role required
- Adhering to company panel manufacturing guidelines and standards
- Training/Developing others in department workload and expectations
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures & regulations
- Perform basic maintenance to equipment and tools (hydraulic fluid, banding/strapping machines, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Minimal Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Prior experience in a mill and/or wood production work environment preferred
- Will include climbing, pushing, kneeling and lifting heavy items
- Must be able to lift dimensional lumber to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to operate a forklift; certification done post hire
- Must be able to stand for length of shift
Safety Responsibilities
- Working in a safe manner is the highest priority, always.
- Following Lock Out procedures.
- Safety toe work shoes are required to begin work and all other personal protective gear is provided.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
