Mountain Country Foods, located in Spanish Fork, Utah, is seeking a Wastewater operator to oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the facility's wastewater treatment system, with a focus on the Dissolved Air Flotation process. The role ensures that all processes comply with environmental regulations and that effluent water meets quality standards before discharge.
Job functions:
- Weekend day C Shift
- Shifts alternate weekly, 4 days one week, 3 days the next week. (Thursday-Sunday/Friday-Sunday) 12-hour shifts.
- Operate, inspect, and monitor the wastewater system and associated equipment, including pumps, skimmers, valves, and chemical feed systems.
- Record meter and gauge readings, operational data, and lab results in logs or computer systems. Interpret data to determine processing requirements and identify potential issues.
- Adjust chemical dosages, such as coagulants, to optimize the flocculation and flotation process.
- Collect and analyze wastewater samples at various stages of the treatment process to monitor quality parameters like pH, temperature, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and total suspended solids (TSS).
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical components, clean equipment and tanks, and perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Ensure all treatment processes and reporting procedures comply with relevant permits.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and respond to operational alarms, system irregularities, or emergencies like equipment failure or chemical spills.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Forklift Experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, wastewater treatment principles, basic chemistry, and environmental regulations.
- The ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment is critical for the role.
- Experience with computerized control systems and Microsoft Office.
- The job may require heavy physical labor, including lifting heavy objects, bending, crouching, and working in various weather and environmental conditions.
