Mountain Community Health Partnership is seeking a full-time Referral Clerk/Patient Services Representative to support patient care and front office operations. As a key member of our team, you will help patients navigate referrals and specialty appointments while also providing exceptional front desk support.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Referral Clerk:
- Process referrals to specialists, imaging centers, and other healthcare providers.
- Obtain insurance prior authorizations for referred services and proceudres.
- Schedule referral appointments and communicate details to patients.
- Track referral outcomes and ensure follow-up documentation is received.
- Coordinate with providers and clinical staff regarding referral needs.
- Process medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
As a Patient Services Representative:
- Assist patients in person and over the phone.
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with clinical, care management, and billing teams.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience in a medial office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Experience with EHR systems and insurance verification processes. Knowledge of referrals, prior authorizations, or medical record procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, detail-oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
