Mountain Care Of Snowflake in Snowflake, AZ is looking for one night shift caregiving to join our 17 person strong team. We are located on 48 E 1st Street South. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged.
Our night shift is 6pm-6am.
PURPOSE OF POSITION /SUMMARY
The primary function of the Caregiver/Med Tech is to provide care and assistance to residents of the community, which will also include appropriately administering medications to assisted living residents. These services are established according to physician orders and resident needs according to Arizona state regulations. This position combined will provide personalized care and services to assisted living residents, which is determined by the resident service plan level of care. The expectation is knowing first and foremost all medtechs are caregivers and should provide resident care after medication administration.
Care for residents can include personal hygiene, mobility, hydration, meals and between meal nourishment and toileting. Other job duties include checking vital signs, documenting resident records and observing resident behavior and immediately reporting any behavior which is not normal for that resident to the manager.
Ensures residents are well cared for in an environment that encourages independence and individuality while providing appropriate assistance. Treats all residents with dignity and respect while creating a home-like environment. Will be expected to follow all Arizona State Assisted Living rules and regulations and maintain/protect privacy and confidentiality of resident information. As a Caregiver/Medtech the expectation of the job duties may differ from the morning shift to the night shift. Employees working in the Senior Living division may directly or indirectly be exposed to infectious diseases and/or biological hazards. Will perform other job duties as assigned.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Check blood pressure involved with medication administration/assistance per physician order; provide residents with assistance as needed; complete monthly and as needed vitals testing; respond to resident emergencies appropriately and report to appropriate manager. Will require completion of incident reports to ensure compliance with mandated regulations. Recordkeeping and Documentation - Document clearly and accurately each medication given, held, refused, discontinued, changed, destroyed or returned according to policy. Maintain appropriate medical supplies and update inventory as needed for medication carts.
- Daily interaction with residents requiring assistance and quality resident care according to the individualized service plan and resident preference. May involve personal care such as providing assistance with dressing, showering, toileting, checking vital signs, skin checks and other similar types of care. Will be expected to communicate with families, physicians and other healthcare professionals appropriately; may attend/participate in assisted living/community activities or functions; resident trash pick-up; resident laundry. Maintain resident records associated with assisted living services, including recording daily transactions or care of residents.
- Communicate with care staff and management at shift change to update status of residents ensuring continuity and quality of care. Communicate with Health Services Administrator, Nursing Supervisor and Mid-level management as needed. Maintain effective and productive staff relationships to ensure continuity of care.
- Complete required in-service training including certifications per State regulations and community policies.
- Respond to and notify appropriate staff member in the event of a resident emergency or incident.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/COMPUTER/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 3 months experience in directed care service for seniors
- Current certification as assisted living caregiver in state of Arizona (Supervisory, personal and directed)
- Adult in person CPR/First Aid Certified
- 2 neg TB tests at least a week apart with the last 12 months
- Current Fingerprint Card
- AZ Food Handlers Card
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Basic computer skills.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
