What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lift Maintenance Apprentice position at MOUNTAIN CAPITAL PARTNERS?
(PT Year Round Non-Benefited Position) The Lift Maintenance Apprentice will participate in inspections, testing, monitoring, preventative and reactive maintenance of ski lift machinery and equipment to ensure safe lift operation at all times. The Lift Maintenance Apprentice will develop foundational knowledge of Lift Maintenance procedures and work with experienced Lift Technicians to achieve entry level Lift Technician skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:Essential Functions:

Preform Pre-operation inspections, lift start-up and shutdown procedures

Monitor adverse weather conditions and assist experienced Lift Technicians with operational decisions

Isolate/unisolate applicable lifts from possible lightning damage
-
Clean ski lift components during routine maintenance

Maintain proper housekeeping of all work spaces (terminals, work sites, lift shacks, shop areas ect.)

Maintain exterior of ski lift related facilities (Painting, carpentry, ect.)

Operate Aerial lifts for maintenance activities or other circumstances

Identify faults on ski lifts and identify simple resolutions

Become proficient with identifying ski lift components and terminology

Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
-
Experience with the safe and effective use of hand and power tools
-
Ski lift operation experience is helpful but not required

Valid driver’s license

Snowmobile/OHV operation

Intermediate level or above skier or snowboarder

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift or move heavy objects using appropriate techniques (50 lbs.)

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in varying/extreme weather conditions

Ability to perform demanding physical labor for extended periods

Must be able to work at altitude (9300 – 11,500 feet above sea level)

Ability to hike to remote locations to access machinery
Travel Required:
Minimal. 1 – 5 annual out of state trips possible to attend industry conference(s) or company gatherings or assist other areas within the collective with Lift maintenance projects/training.
Lift Technician positions may not be available at Arizona Snowbowl upon completion of the program, opportunities will be available at other ski areas within the MCP collective. The ability/willingness to relocate is recommended. Completion of the program will be determined by the discretion of the Arizona Snowbowl Lift Maintenance leadership team.
