Lift Ops Operator

The Nordic Valley Lift Operations team is the front-line and face of resort Mountain Operations. This role is responsible for operating the ski lifts and helping to create a fun and safe environment for our guests.   The ideal candidate is energetic, guest-focused, and works well in a fast-paced environment.  This position is great for anyone who loves to ski/snowboard, as we have great perks for our employees to also enjoy our resort and sister resorts throughout the country.  Employees also receive discounts. Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist and direct guests loading and unloading chairlifts and conveyors in a safe, professional, and efficient manner, using excellent guest service skills.
• Maintain the loading/unloading ramps and lift maze areas.
• Remove snow from chairs, ramps, and work areas.
• Daily set up and take down of guest loading, preloading, chair clearance and line maze areas.
• Operate machinery and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
• Assist in emergency situations as required, such as misloads, unseated passengers & lift evacuations,
• Work well with team members, demonstrate good communication skills, and promote a positive work environment.
• Answer guests questions related to general resort operations, ski lifts, routes, and ski runs.  
• Follow supervisors direction and perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must know how to operate basic machinery.
• Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have excellent guest service skills.
• Must be able to ski or snowboard safely to and from assigned workstations using company-designated routes (In some instances, employees without fundamental ski or snowboarding ability may be assigned to workstations where such skills are not required).
• Must have reliable transportation, being dependable and arriving to work on time on a daily basis. 
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work for an extended period of time in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and/or wind.

Must be able to work at high altitudes for an extended period of time.
