ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - 210 day contract

QUALIFICATIONS:                  1.   Kentucky Certificate for Principals.

1. Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

SUPERVISES:                         Certified and classified staff as assigned

JOB GOAL:                              To assist the Principal in the administration and supervision of all activities and personnel within the school.  To motivate all staff members to sustain a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.  To motivate each student to strive for fulfillment as a responsible and productive member of the school and society.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Adheres to and updates policies of the Montgomery County Board of Education, state, and federal regulations and laws.
2. Assists the Principal providing for the effective and efficient operations of the school and its programs.
3. Assists the Principal in providing leadership for all aspects of the school including but not limited to: Evaluation and supervision of staff, curriculum and instruction, communication, student achievement, student safety, parent and community relations, building and campus maintenance, planning, records management, scheduling and supervising school functions, management of the school plant, and student discipline.

1. Assists the Principal in insuring the school and district’s curriculum is being effectively delivered in the classroom, in compliance with Kentucky’s Learners Goals, Program of Studies, Core Content for Assessment and other state or federal guidelines.
2. Attends conferences and training programs, relative to job assignment, consistent with professional growth objectives approved by the Principal or Superintendent.
3. Works with school personnel, parents and community agencies in addressing student’s needs (instructional, social, emotional, and physical).
4. Supervises students to insure safety during school or at school related functions.
5. Uses technology to enhance productivity and professional growth, access and manipulate data; communicate and collaborate with colleagues, staff and community; conducts research/solves problems.
6. Facilitates the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community.
7. Collaborates with staff and community; responds to diverse interests and needs and motivates community resources.
8. Acts with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.
9. Influences the school environment on behalf of students and their needs.
10. Prepares a variety of reports/documents; makes proposals; maintains a variety of records as required by policy, law or the Superintendent.
11. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal or the Superintendent.
