Job Description:
The Visitor Relations Associate oversees and enhances the day-to-day hospitality efforts at the Welcome Desk in the Miller Family Visitors' Center located at the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. This position performs receptionist and customer service duties for our visitors and staff. Responsibilities include answering phones, entering pertinent donor information into forms, inputting contact information, and answering visitor questions. This position directly reports to the Associate Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Hospitality:
- Provide friendly, effective customer service and information to all guests
- Greet visitors with a smile, say "hello" and offer to answer any questions they may have
- Answer phones in a friendly manner, assist with the visitor's question or direct them to another associate who can help
- Serve as a resource in providing visitors attraction information such as history, highlights and location details of the National Shrine Grotto, Mount St. Mary's University and local restaurants
- Coordinate in collaboration with the volunteers, security, custodial, and other applicable departments to maintain facility and visitor needs; monitoring the main lobby, surrounding areas and restrooms
- Assist visitors needs with candle orders and Mass enrollments
- Have ownership of the Welcome Desk by ensuring it is neat, organized and clean in appearance
Communications:
- Enter data into CRM system such as emails, prayer requests, visitor sign-ins and testimonials
Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills
- Minimum of two years of related experience
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to maintain composure and flexibility in stressful, deadline driven situations
- Resourcefulness, attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work both independently, and as part of a team with results oriented approach
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to be persistent in tasks
- Ability to give substantial feedback on given responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge of Roman Catholic faith, with its cultures and structure, and activities
Salary/Hours/Benefits
- Minimum Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
- 40 hours per week: Sunday–Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
