Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester.
Purpose: Develop, create, and assist with the installation and tear down of all exhibits, and manage the exhibits’ gallery receptions. Co-Op students also assist with gallery administrative duties such as promotion, graphic design work, and development of exhibitions. Co-Op students must be punctual, dependable, have an interest in art and design, and be able to work together with the gallery team to meet deadlines.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Packing/unpacking artworks
- Install artworks
- Clean up (spackle and re-paint) the gallery after each exhibit
- Gallery signage and exhibit labeling
- Weekend monitoring (includes receiving artwork from artists in gallery for some exhibits)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
- Enrolled in a Fine Arts or Graphic Design major
- Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines
- Well organized, punctual, detail-oriented, and reliable
- Must be able to work well with others and independently.
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University
