Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester
Purpose: As part of the Exercise Science and Integrative Health team, the Admissions Student Ambassador & Social Media Coordinator will contribute to the Mount’s efforts to attract, engage, and retain students through online channels and interaction with prospective students.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Department chair with managing a social media content calendar, creating posts and event announcements, monitoring conversations about MSJ, and measuring the effectiveness of overall efforts.
- Schedule coordinated content on a biweekly basis with established weekly outreach activities (1-3 posts per week, # of call/texts per week, etc.).
- Assist with coordinating livestreams and other marketing opportunities to help ensure the faces of our students, faculty, staff and alumni stay front-and-center.
- Conduct outreach activities to current university applicants and answer questions via email, by phone, via scheduled Zoom information sessions, and by text message using the Department's social media accounts for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, to highlight the activities of current health and Exercise Science student activities
- Have a sincere curiosity about how constituents (students, alumni, parents, prospective students) experience the MSJ brand on social media and digital marketing channels.
- Have an enthusiasm for brainstorming content ideas and scouting industry competitors to come up with new ideas.
- Be comfortable interpreting data and performing data entry.
- This position requires consultation with members of the University Communications team and frequent work with other members of the campus community.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
- Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines.
- Well organized, punctual, and reliable.
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University.
- Must have experience using at least four of the following platforms: Canva, Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok.
- Should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar software.
- Should have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
- Video editing experience preferred.
- Should have strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
