Mount Prospect Academy NHYPM Program (NH Youth Program for Motorsports) Job Title: NHYPM Paraprofessional Reports To: NHYPM Director, Dean of Students, and Academic Director Salary up to $21hr - Monday- Friday 7:30am-3:30pm work schedule L​ocation: Plymouth, NH The MPA NHYPM Paraprofessional is an enthusiastic and motivated Paraprofessional to support students participating in the MPA NHYPM program. NHYPM paraprofessional will develop meaningful relationships with team members and assist in learning the mechanics of maintaining dirt bikes and safe riding skills. Summary and Responsibilities: The NHYPM Paraeducator will work closely with the Education Team to ensure the safety and well-being of the students while participating in the education program. In addition, this position will require knowledge of dirt bikes and riding ability, maintenance expertise, and other general knowledge of motorcycles. The Paraeducator functions as part of the academic and treatment team and is responsible for, but not limited to the following: Being an enthusiastic and motivated role model to students. Assisting the educators and providing supervision of students while in school and during programming. Responsible for coordinating and managing the NHYPM program with MPA students. Provide mechanical tutorials to students and teach them basic knowledge of riding skills and dirt bike maintenance. Provide supported instruction and assessment to students as outlined/assigned by the teacher in support of the assigned academic coursework or Individual Education Plan (IEP) needs. Provide supportive supervision and participation in class activities including trail riding, bike mechanics etc. Assist with "wake-up" duties to the assigned residential program if needed. Assist with behavioral interventions within the classroom as needed modeling and using ARC principles and TCI Training. Assist with substitute lessons as assigned by the teacher and/or NHYPM Director as needed. Maintain appropriate documentation that may be assigned by the supervisor such as attendance, incident reports, data entry, daily academic report, work orders, etc. Assist with monitoring and supervising transitional times, lunch, school beginning and ending activities for student accountability. Assisting with community-based activities and appointments related to student’s needs as assigned. Provide aid as requested by the Dean of Students or Academic Director in daily routines. Participation in mandated and assigned professional training offered in the program. Provide transportation with school vehicles for students/teacher activities as needed. Participate in student meetings (such as IEPs and ITP's) as assigned by the Dean of Students or Academic Director. Participate in staff meetings as required. Maintain students' confidentiality at all times and report all pertinent information to supervisor. Pursue appropriate channels of communication. Understand the administrative structure, chain of command and program philosophy of MPA. Appropriately represent Mount Prospect Academy to the community, students' parents, and outside agencies. Follow all MPA and NHYPM company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by NHYPM Director, Academic Director, and/or Dean of Students. Bachelor’s degree preferred or 60 college credits OR: a high school diploma and one of the following; The equivalent of 2 years full time experience working with children. 7 years parenting experience. Human services credits and child experience equaling 2 years. Requirements that meet Child Care Licensing Reg. He- C. 4001.19 Physical Requirements: Can perform physical demands associated with the position including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, squatting, participating in outdoor programming, behavioral interventions, and driving.
