What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician Surgical/Anesthesia position at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital?
We are seeking a full time Veterinary Technician Manager (CVT) to join our team!
Cape Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned, newly renovated practice located in Cape May Courthouse, NJ. We are a growing mixed animal practice comprised of a team of veterinary technicians, assistants, and doctors dedicated to offering their patients the best of care and developing a culture of excellence.
The role of a primary care technician manager will include but is not limited to:
- Work with other floor managers to lead the entire technician team
- Be on the floor and involved with day-to-day matters impacting the surgical technicians and assistants including directing flow of the surgery day and ensure efficiency, consistency and accountability.
- Training surgical technicians and technician assistants, surgical technician scheduling, staff performance and implementing SOP's
- Be able to perform and oversee the role of a surgical/anesthesia veterinary technician which includes but is not limited to patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments and procedures, anesthetic monitoring, intubation/extubation, drug calculations, taking radiographs, performing venipuncture, injections (SQ/IM/IV), IV catheter placement, maintaining surgical equipment, client education and more!
Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and requires frequent bending and standing for long periods of time. It requires routine lifting and restraining animals. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
