Buyer Planner III – Electronics / Defense Manufacturing

We are seeking a detail‑driven professional who can balance planning, procurement, cost control, supplier management, and risk mitigation while supporting strategic manufacturing initiatives.
What You’ll Do
As a Buyer Planner III, you will own the full lifecycle of material planning and procurement to support high‑reliability electronics manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, procure, and schedule materials using Just‑In‑Time (JIT) methodologies.
- Review technical data packages and understand the technical scope of work (TDP).
- Maintain and improve material cost parameters and monitor PPV performance.
- Review and manage open order action reports.
- Partner with suppliers to ensure quality, pricing, and delivery expectations are met.
- Solve technical issues independently or with cross‑functional support.
- Retrieve procurement data from the company’s MRP system and place orders within 5 days of contract review.
- Bid work orders, negotiate pricing, and secure competitive delivery timelines.
- Resolve issues related to discrepant material, damaged goods, pricing errors, quality, or schedule delays (including MRB actions).
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams to ensure on‑time production.
- Source, qualify, and recommend suppliers; track monthly supplier performance.
- Recommend and support SCARs when needed.
- Analyze subcontract results (PPV, delivery, quality) and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct supplier assessments through site visits, questionnaires, portal reviews, or calls.
- Lead schedule‑mitigation activities with cross‑functional partners (Ops, Engineering, PM, Leadership).
- Utilize advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
- Provide supply chain risk recommendations to senior planning leadership.
- Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in electronics or defense manufacturing (required).
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.).
- Experience using QuoteFX (QFX) is a plus.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.

Work Environment
This role is fully on-site and works closely with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Quality, and Senior Leadership.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
