About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team in Slatersville, RI. This is a direct hire, first-shift opportunity supporting innovative manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in equipment design, automation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support new equipment programs by contributing to design, sourcing quotations, and collaborating with external vendors
- Drive cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide hands-on engineering support and troubleshooting for production equipment
- Respond to critical production issues impacting manufacturing and distribution
- Develop and modify control systems—from timing adjustments to full reprogramming
- Partner with internal teams and external suppliers to build and implement designs
- Convert supplier drawings into standardized internal documentation
- Troubleshoot machinery and gauge-related production issues
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives (tooling/process reviews, continuous improvement projects)
- Help establish control and gauge design standards to improve flexibility and reduce changeover time
- Support additional engineering projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3–5 years of experience in machine controls design
- Strong understanding of manufacturing automation and programming logic
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering/CAD software tools
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system design & diagnostics
- Familiarity with engineering tools, systems, and databases
- Knowledge of statistical tools and quality management techniques
