Purpose of Your Job Position
The primary purpose of your job position is to administer medications on your assigned unit in accordance with the established procedures and perform other duties as may be directed by your supervisor, to assure that an on-going program of care designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident is maintained.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Record all entries on Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Use the photo card in vision to identify residents before administering medications, fluids, etc., as necessary.
- Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur.
- Use only authorized abbreviations established by this facility when recording information.
- Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the Charge Nurse as soon as practical.
