We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 3rd Grade English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies Teacher to join our elementary school faculty. We are searching for a teacher that will foster a love of reading, writing, and history while building critical thinking and communication skills in young learners. This role requires strong classroom management, instructional planning, and a commitment to differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging daily lessons in ELA and Social Studies aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
Teach reading comprehension, writing (narrative, informative, opinion), grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and oral communication.
Develop students’ understanding of historical events, geography, cultures, citizenship, and government.
Incorporate diverse texts and perspectives that reflect a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of learners, including small group instruction, hands-on activities, and technology integration.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring
Design and implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning.
Use data to guide instruction and provide targeted support or enrichment.
Communicate academic progress with students, families, and administration regularly.
Classroom Management and Environment
Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Implement effective behavior management strategies to foster student responsibility and engagement.
Promote a growth mindset and encourage student perseverance and resilience.
Professional Responsibilities:
Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and specialists to support student learning and school initiatives.
Attend faculty meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as required.
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and assessment data.
Stay current with educational best practices, curriculum updates, and professional standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
Valid teaching certification for elementary grades (state-specific)
