The Mount Horeb High School is excited to offer a Boys Swimming Program beginning with the 2026-2027 season. The qualified individual should possess a sound knowledge of the sport, strong communication skills, a dedicated work ethic, a natural rapport with students, and the desire to excel and grow in the profession. As Varsity Head Coach, the qualified candidate will be an active contributor to the Mount Horeb Area School District and adhere to school district, Badger Conference, and WIAA rules and regulations. In addition, the varsity coach will be required to work with the youth swim program to further promote the sport of swim in the Mount Horeb community.

Practices will be held mainly in Verona, WI, just 10 minutes from downtown Madison. A great opportunity for a college student or someone looking to coach our swimmers to success!

Qualifications

A successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate and possess:

• Previous coaching experience. (Head coaching preferred)
• A coaching and learning philosophy that includes thoughts on the role of athletics in an educational setting, winning and losing, competition, players, school, and community.
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• A willingness to seek opportunities to lend assistance to and work with our local youth program.
• Ability to plan, organize and supervise the team with respect to schedules, equipment, student eligibility, travel arrangements and team safety.
• Ability to provide positive motivation and development of student-athletes including year-round monitoring of conduct and academic performance.
• The ability to work diligently with the coaching staff to assist all student-athletes within the athletic program to maximize their academic as well as athletic potential.
• The ability to attend scheduled coach’s meetings and work well with other coaches in the Mount Horeb High School
