Position Objective:

The Redwood Camp (“RWC”) Health Lead Technician assists with and reports to the Conference Center (“CC”) all health needs of RWC campers and staff in a manner consistent with Mount Hermon’s mission, vision and values.


General Qualifications:

Key Job Accountabilities:           

  • Guide, encourage, and direct the RWC Healthcare Technicians as directed by the CC Health Supervisor, Healthcare Services Administrator (“HS”) and/or Redwood Camp Program Director.
  • Coordinate and participate in stocking the RWC Healthcare Center.
  • Under the direction of the Healthcare Services Administrator or CC Health Supervisor, facilitate technician team process in storing, handling and dosing medication in compliance with MHA’s Medication Policy and Procedures.
  • Assist with transporting campers or staff to urgent care or hospital using MHA’s “2 Person Policy.”
  • Report to CC Health Supervisor all campers requiring transport to offsite healthcare providers.
  • Access Circuitree-Health history/emergency contact form, parent/guardian consent, and Medication Administration Record as needed.
  • Report daily activities to CC Health Supervisor and or Healthcare Services Administrator.
  • Ensure Technician team checks / documents AEDs, weekly.
  • Document each camper’s or parent’s clinical encounters in Circuitree and MHA staff in Camp Health Log.
  • Carry First Aid back pack, (Epi-pens and Benadryl) on Beach Day and connects as needed with CC Health Supervisor.
  • Participate in Health Screening of Campers and Staff as needed.
  • With CC Health Supervisor or Healthcare Administrator’s support, locate, complete and distribute: Worker’s Compensation Packet (DWC-1), Employee or Volunteer Incident Report, Campers insurance forms ensuring Human Resources has all appropriate paperwork within 24hrs. Perform any other duties as assigned by CC Health Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CC Health Supervisor Healthcare Administrator.

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • High school graduate.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED which includes care of infant, child, and adult.
  • College or university course work in preventative health practice, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology are preferred.

 

Work Experience:

  • Preferred experience (work or volunteer) working in health services environment.
  • Previous HT work experience with MHA preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Ability to see, hear, grasp and speak English.
  • The employee is frequently required to run, crouch, stand, sit for long periods, and use steep trails and stairs.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must agree to and comply with MHA’s employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and personal vehicles for business purposes.
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
