Mount Aloysius College, repeatedly recognized by ModernThink as a “Great College to Work For,” seeks a highly motivated, creative individual to serve as the Manager of Student Engagement & Orientation.  The Manager of Student Engagement and Orientation creates and provides educational, social, and leadership development programs and experiences that enhance student learning, foster a sense of belonging, and promote engagement across the Mount Aloysius College community. This position is responsible for ensuring a student-centered approach to campus activities, service programming, and engagement initiatives that support students' social, cultural, recreational, and educational development. Develops and implements student programs and initiatives that promote belonging, intercultural awareness, and appreciation for diverse perspectives in support of the College's Mercy values and mission.  Coordinates student engagement programs, Campus traditions, and signature events in collaboration with campus partners, including Orientation, Welcome Weekend, Club Fairs, recognition programs, and other institutional initiatives.  Coordinates orientation experiences for new students and families, including summer, fall, and spring programs.

The Manager of Student Engagement and Orientation assists with the oversight of student clubs and organizations, advises student leadership groups, and collaborates across the College to create meaningful experiences that contribute to student success and the mission of Mount Aloysius College.  The Manager advises Campus Activity Board (CAB) and provides co-advising support for the Student Government Association (SGA).  The Manager oversees the Cosgrave Student Center, including student staffing for the Student Affairs Division.  This position supervises a departmental Graduate Assistant, various Student Workers, and Orientation Leaders.

The Manager of Student Engagement and Orientation manages department budget/s and resources responsibly, coordinates event logistics and oversees service agreements consistent with College policies and procedures.  This position is responsible for assessing the effectiveness of student programs and initiatives, and in turn, must be able to utilize such assessment data and student feedback to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.  Prepares reports and presents project updates as requested by the Vice President for Student Affairs.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education or related field preferred; BA/BS required.  Experience in extracurricular and leadership activities at the undergraduate level required. Ability to work a varied schedule, as evening and weekend work is required.

The successful candidate should be passionate about student engagement and leadership. Must be able to collaborate with students, staff, faculty, and the external community. Ability to train and assist students in their development and manage and lead groups as required. Above average verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills required; Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite required. Excellent small group presentation and communication skills required.  Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, maintain attention to detail orientation, and excel in a fast-paced, high volume office is required.  The successful candidate must be able to exercise independent thinking.  Should be able to foresee risks and anticipate needs, and make sound decisions. High degree of professionalism and a demonstrated ability to maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality is required.
