Responsibilities:
- Observe and record resident attendance, participation level, mood, behavior, and overall engagement during activities
- Note, report, and chart resident behavior and progress according to facility procedures
- Communicate with residents and family members to understand interests, preferences, and goals for activity planning
- Assist in planning and implementing daily activity programs under the direction of the Activity Director
- Coordinate activities with other departments as needed to ensure smooth scheduling and participation
- Encourage residents to join activities, games, crafts, and social events
- Build supportive relationships with residents to promote self-esteem, engagement, and well-being
- Prepare activity rooms and areas for scheduled programs
- Clean up and restore activity areas once programs are completed
- Move, arrange, and organize equipment and supplies to ensure areas are ready for use
- Assist with decorating and setting up materials for residents
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in activities preferred
- Ability to read and write
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assist with helping residents back to their rooms
- Compassionate, patient, and able to create a positive environment for residents
