What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Panel QC Inspector position at Motor Controls Inc?

MCI is a 45-year-old industry leader in the design, manufacture, and assembly of electrical controls, electrical enclosures, irrigation pumps and controls, municipal and commercial pump stations, water purification systems and design-to-order metal fabrications. We serve a variety of industries with standard and custom products including water pumping, oil production-drill and refining controls, waste water treatment, conveying, baggage conveying, handling, and more!
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final quality inspections on completed electrical panels and enclosures
- Verify panel build against electrical schematics, BOMs, and layout drawings
- Inspect wiring for proper routing, terminations, labeling, color coding, and workmanship
- Verify torque, grounding, bonding, and component mounting
- Inspect panel layout, clearances, and overall workmanship
- Ensure labeling, nameplates, and markings are accurate and complete
- Confirm compliance with applicable quality and safety requirements
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances
- Work with wiring, assembly, and engineering teams to resolve issues
- Verify packaging, documentation, and panel protection prior to shipment
Qualifications
- Experience in Final QC or inspection of electrical control panels
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and panel layout drawings
- Strong understanding of electrical workmanship standards
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with inspection tools and QC checklists
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Experience
- Inspection of UL 508A industrial control panels
- Knowledge of NEMA enclosure requirements
- Experience in panel shop or electrical manufacturing environment

Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour
