GIS Specialist (Production)

Position Summary

Motivf is seeking a GIS Specialist (Production) to support enterprise GIS production,

database management, and geospatial operations for a federal client. This role supports

mapping, data management, quality control, enterprise workflows, and GIS production

activities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate and reliable

geospatial products. This role is 100% on-site in Sacramento, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with hardware and software vendors to maintain a reliable GIS production environment.

• Implement GIS quality control procedures and oversee production activities performed by associate specialists and data technicians.

• Monitor and ensure proper GIS data backups.

• Approve and release final product databases, maps, and reports as delegated by the Service Center Manager.

• Assist with user setup, project setup, accounting, and security implementation.

• Perform mapping and database management functions supporting Reclamation projects.

• Create enterprise GIS schemas and workflow procedures.

• Manage GIS data collection technologies and support enterprise GIS operations.

• Collaborate with GIS teams while independently managing assigned tasks and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• Three (3) or more years of experience with Python, Arcade, and/or ModelBuilder.

• Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Pro, Spatial Analyst, GIS database management, mapping, and cartographic production.

• Experience developing GIS schemas and workflow procedures.

• Experience supporting ArcGIS Online administration; ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE configuration experience preferred.

• Completion of relevant ESRI training within the last two years may substitute for portions of experience requirements, including: ArcGIS Pro, building geodatabases, cartographic production, 3D creation/analysis or visualization, modernizing field workflows using field maps for ArcGIS.

• Ability to work independently and effectively within an interdisciplinary GIS team

This position is contingent upon Motivf’s successful award of the associated federal contract. A qualified candidate will receive a conditional offer of employment, with a confirmed start date to follow once the contract award is finalized.
