Position Summary
Motivf is seeking a GIS Manager (Service Center Manager / Site Supervisor / Application Developer) to provide operational and technical leadership for the CGBGIS Service Center supporting a federal client. This role manages daily GIS operations, staff workload, enterprise GIS systems, application development, and database management while ensuring compliance with Reclamation policies, directives, and the CGBGIS Management Plan. This role is on-site in Sacramento, CA.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day GIS Service Center operations, workload, and staff coordination.
• Support contractor operations including payroll, billing, benefits, HR, travel, and training activities.
• Schedule and assign tasks to GIS programmers, production specialists, and technicians.
• Oversee GIS operations support, operator training, production workflows, and quality control.
• Review GIS deliverables for accuracy, adherence to design concepts, user standards, and project schedules.
• Supervise GIS database maintenance, integrity, and user access controls.
• Support GIS/CAD systems administration and enterprise GIS operations.
• Analyze GIS system requirements and define technical work requirements.
• Design and develop GIS production tools, user interfaces, and enterprise applications using ESRI technologies, JavaScript APIs, and ArcGIS Online.
• Develop and implement GIS program components supporting modeling and enterprise workflows.
• Estimate GIS task costs, staffing needs, and hardware utilization requirements.
• Forecast Service Center workloads and recommend hardware and software improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience managing GIS operations and technical teams.
• Experience with GIS/CAD systems administration, database management, and enterprise GIS environments.
• Experience analyzing GIS system requirements and developing GIS applications and production tools.
• Experience with ESRI enterprise technologies, including ArcGIS Server, JavaScript APIs, and ArcGIS Online.
• Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
This position is contingent upon Motivf’s successful award of the associated federal contract. A qualified candidate will receive a conditional offer of employment, with a confirmed start date to follow once the contract award is finalized.
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
