What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll be hands-on in the field, operating a range of heavy equipment on active environmental job sites. Every day brings different challenges—from remediation to restoration.
- Operate equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, compactors, articulated dump trucks, and loaders
- Perform precision earthmoving tied to remediation scopes (not just rough grading)
- Read and work from grading plans, cut/fill stakes, and site layouts
- Maintain constant situational awareness in safety-critical environments
- Handle basic maintenance and minor equipment repairs to keep operations moving
- Work alongside crews on projects involving:
- Soil & groundwater remediation
- Waterway and habitat restoration
- Demolition & environmental decommissioning
- Water, wastewater, and air treatment systems

What You Bring:
- 5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
- 4 years working on civil or infrastructure construction projects
- Strong experience running multiple machine types:
- Excavators, dozers, loaders, haul trucks, compactors, etc.
- Ability to read plans and execute grading work accurately
- Active 40-Hour HAZWOPER 8-Hour Refresher
- Solid understanding of equipment limits, stability, and safe operation
- Comfortable working in changing site conditions and problem-solving on the fly
- Team-first mindset with a strong commitment to safety
Ideal Background (Not Required, But Valuable):
- Environmental remediation or restoration project experience
- Experience working around contaminated soils or regulated sites
- Familiarity with CAT or John Deere controls
