Heavy Equipment Operator – Environmental Construction

Woodinville, WA | Local Project Travel

Build More Than Sites — Help Restore the Environment

If you’re an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator who takes pride in precision, safety, and real-world impact, this is the kind of work that matters.

This isn’t just mass grading or moving dirt for another commercial build. You’ll be operating in environmental remediation and restoration projects—cleaning up contaminated sites, restoring waterways, and improving soil, air, and water systems that directly affect communities.

If you like working on complex sites where skill, awareness, and accountability actually matter, keep reading.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You’ll be hands-on in the field, operating a range of heavy equipment on active environmental job sites. Every day brings different challenges—from remediation to restoration.

  • Operate equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, compactors, articulated dump trucks, and loaders
  • Perform precision earthmoving tied to remediation scopes (not just rough grading)
  • Read and work from grading plans, cut/fill stakes, and site layouts
  • Maintain constant situational awareness in safety-critical environments
  • Handle basic maintenance and minor equipment repairs to keep operations moving
  • Work alongside crews on projects involving:
  • Soil & groundwater remediation
  • Waterway and habitat restoration
  • Demolition & environmental decommissioning
  • Water, wastewater, and air treatment systems

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Purpose-driven work – You’re helping clean up and restore the environment
  • Diverse job sites – No repetitive subdivision work—every project is different
  • Real operator skill required – Precision, not just seat time
  • Tight-knit crews – Team-oriented environment where everyone pulls their weight
  • Local travel – Home base in Woodinville with regional project work

What You Bring:

  • 5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
  • 4 years working on civil or infrastructure construction projects
  • Strong experience running multiple machine types:
  • Excavators, dozers, loaders, haul trucks, compactors, etc.
  • Ability to read plans and execute grading work accurately
  • Active 40-Hour HAZWOPER 8-Hour Refresher
  • Solid understanding of equipment limits, stability, and safe operation
  • Comfortable working in changing site conditions and problem-solving on the fly
  • Team-first mindset with a strong commitment to safety

Ideal Background (Not Required, But Valuable):

  • Environmental remediation or restoration project experience
  • Experience working around contaminated soils or regulated sites
  • Familiarity with CAT or John Deere controls
