DESCRIPTION
Opportunity overview
Goal: automate delivery and operations of large-scale networks to support Retail Branch Networks “Stores” (4,000–6,000 racks, new DC buildouts) and enable rapid, safe change at scale.
Technical scope:
Network Automation
- Automate delivery and management of large-scale -integrated data center networks (4,000–6,000 racks, new data centers).
- “Network as code” approach: infrastructure treated as code primitives and atomic actions, callable via APIs inside AWS environments.
Hyperscale and endpoint agents
- Environments include hyperscale clouds: AWS and Microsoft (likely Azure).
- Plan to deploy agents on endpoints/devices to:
- Collect telemetry and state.
- Potentially “weigh” or assess device condition/health and readiness for automation actions.
Workforce / retail store access
- Automation must support workforce access across all stores (likely a distributed retail footprint).
- Focus on fast, scalable deployment of network changes and access controls to all store locations.
Strong Python developers with experience in:
- Network automation and orchestration.
- Event-driven systems (Kafka or similar).
- Cloud networking (AWS, Microsoft/Azure).
- Familiarity with Cisco/Meraki ecosystems and “network as code” concepts is highly desirable.
Key stakeholders mentioned:
- Marco (Temporo workflow engine owner/architect).
- Mark Rader (stakeholder or hiring manager).
Delivery expectations:
- Emphasis on “go fast”: rapid ramp-up and quick iteration on automation capabilities.
- Need for teams that can:
- Build, test, and deploy automation quickly.
- Safely manage changes at hyperscale across thousands of racks and distributed store locations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Network Automation Engineer consultant to contribute to a high-impact team in a hybrid remote environment.
Salary : $25 - $75
