Overview
Mattel is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Digital Merchandising to drive a consumer-first, data-driven online shopping experience across Mattel's global ecommerce platforms. This role will be responsible for optimizing digital merchandising strategies, site content, and customer engagement initiatives that support indirect sales growth and brand objectives across U.S. and EMEA websites.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Ecommerce, Brand Marketing, Product Management, Creative, Production, and Operations teams to deliver compelling onsite experiences, execute product launches, and leverage analytics to continuously improve performance. This position also includes direct management of one team member and requires close partnership with global stakeholders to ensure consistency across international websites.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales, conversion, and customer engagement across Mattel Shop websites by implementing digital merchandising best practices.
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies that support key product launches, marketing initiatives, and overall business objectives.
- Partner with Global Brand Teams to identify product priorities, promotional messaging, and onsite experiences that support both retail and direct-to-consumer channels.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Ecommerce, Marketing, Product, Creative, and Operations teams to successfully launch new products, campaigns, and site functionality.
- Own and maintain the site content calendar, ensuring alignment with company and brand priorities.
- Create detailed creative briefs and partner with design teams to deliver engaging and effective customer experiences.
- Monitor website performance and customer behavior using web analytics tools, translating insights into actionable strategies that improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify opportunities to optimize site navigation, product presentation, content placement, and promotional effectiveness.
- Manage and support one direct report while fostering collaboration and accountability across teams.
- Partner with global stakeholders to ensure a consistent merchandising approach across international ecommerce sites.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in digital merchandising, ecommerce marketing, or online retail operations.
- Experience within consumer products, retail, toy, or ecommerce-driven organizations preferred.
- Proven experience working across cross-functional teams including Marketing, Ecommerce, Product, and Operations.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage analytics and customer insights to drive business performance.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify and ecommerce content management platforms.
- Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com.
- Experience supporting international markets, including EMEA, is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and provide support during key launches as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Ecommerce, or a related field.
