IT Technician ~ Level 1
Location: New York
Duration: 12 months ( extensions)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct on-site problem resolution for both on and off warranty desktop systems.
- Troubleshoot and support end-users
- Install desktop hardware and software.
- Perform desktop imaging and configuration
- Install and configure printers and specialized peripherals.
- Workstation and desktop software management for all non-terminal clients
- Using the proper software, monitor systems and servers for worm/virus/spyware attacks
- Apple and/or Windows domain administration
- Assist with the installation of new initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and repair workstation hardware, monitors, projectors, printers etc.
- Basic workstation OS integrity troubleshooting and re-image if necessary
- Troubleshoot Email and application problems.
- Clean an infected machine of worm/virus/spyware.
- Maintain computer inventory.
- Administer help desk procedures.
- Assist in unboxing and installing network equipment as it applies to setup, network connections, re-imaging, and post configuration testing.
- Provide support, maintenance, monitoring and/or management of a newly developed system as well as applications or systems that were developed and implemented in the past.
- Create, administer and maintain the users’ computing environments, e.g. creation and maintenance of user accounts and profiles, creation of user logon scripts, server-based storage, user file security, and user e-mail accounts.
- Test and install software applications for users.
- Maintain system data backup and restoration procedures.
- Maintain internal intranet and external / public web sites in conjunction with, and as directed by the District.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience as a Level 1 Tech ideally iOS, iPad, Chromebook support, able to reset passwords, troubleshooting.
- Break-Fix, Tablets and Desktop
- iOS support experience/knowledge, Apple/MAC - Chromebook would be great as well.
- MUST BE GREAT SOFT SKILLS – Personable and Super Professional
- High willingness to learn and be coachable, but also a “Go-Getter” with the ability to thrive and provide great service in Education environment with Faculty AND Students
- Knowledge/experience in JAMF; Intune
- Experience creating user accounts in Active Directory - Eventually will help support AD but AD not necessarily required just very nice to have
