DevOps Engineer / On-prem / Trading / On-site

A proprietary trading organization in Chicago is hiring a DevOps Engineer to support the infrastructure behind real-time trading platforms. This is a full-time, on-site role working with modern automation, containerized environments, and both Linux and Windows systems in a high-availability, low-latency environment.

This team operates at the intersection of software engineering, infrastructure, and financial markets. The DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring system reliability, improving automation, and solving complex technical problems that directly impact trading performance. Required Skills & Experience

• 2 years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
• Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, networking, and operating systems
• Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows environments
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
• Experience with containerization and automation tools
• Comfort working in high-pressure, production environments
• Ability to work on-site in Chicago
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

• Experience supporting low-latency or high-performance systems
• Exposure to on-prem or co-located data center environments
• Database administration experience
• Observability and monitoring best practices
• Familiarity with data formats such as JSON, XML, or Parquet

• 45% Linux (Red Hat / similar distributions)
• 35% Windows Server environments
• 20% Containers, automation, and tooling
  
  

Daily Responsibilities

• 70% Hands-on engineering and troubleshooting
• 15% Infrastructure improvement and automation
• 15% Cross-team collaboration with developers and traders

• Competitive base salary ($132,000–$177,000 range)
