Overview-
Our client is seeking an experienced Electric Project Manager to oversee planning, permitting, budgeting, scheduling, construction monitoring, and project close-out for electric generation, renewable, distribution, and transmission projects. This part-time position supports safe, reliable, and cost-effective project execution while partnering with engineering, construction, environmental, permitting, land services, supply chain, and operations teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong electric utility or hydroelectric project experience, proven financial and scheduling skills, and the ability to manage multiple construction-related initiatives with limited oversight. Travel requirements are minimal and reimbursed per company policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle of electric infrastructure projects, including planning, estimating, permitting, scheduling, material procurement, budgeting, and risk analysis.
- Prepare projects for bid, assist with contractor selection, and support contract oversight during execution.
- Coordinate closely with Construction Management to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality field construction aligned with company standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across engineering, environmental, permitting, compliance, supply chain, and operations, ensuring accountability to project goals.
- Monitor field progress, support in-service readiness, and oversee project close-out activities.
- Maintain accurate project schedules, budget forecasts, invoicing, material tracking, and status reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, regulatory authorities, and external partners.
- Clearly communicate project milestones, risks, updates, and concerns to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Evaluate project risks continuously and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time, safe, and reliable project delivery.
- Ensure all project activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience with hydroelectric systems, SCADA, electric generation automation, and/or telecommunications.
- 5 years of experience managing electric construction–related projects.
- 3 years of experience working with project budgets and schedules.
- Proficiency with project management tools, scheduling software, and construction documentation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel 30–40% (mileage reimbursed).
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Strong knowledge of electric system design, operations, construction practices, and contract management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and additional project management software.
Salary : $85 - $95
