As a Care Coordinator for the business you would help individuals maximize their health and quality of life through healthcare benefits. This is a contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join a team dedicated to supporting health and wellness through comprehensive member management programs.

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or upon hire commit to actively pursue a degree
  • Active License in good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • State of Alabama licensure as a Registered Nurse OR Multi-State licensure as a Registered Nurse (Compact)
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in medical/surgical health care fields, a psychiatric, and/or an obstetrical setting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with providers, subscribers and group representatives
  • Experience analyzing and making informed decisions in an autonomous setting
  • Experience in a position interpreting and communicating information orally and written with all levels of staff internal and external
  • Experience in a position requiring independent decision making skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule in order to provide telephone coverage
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as needed

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a position using negotiation skills preferred
  • Experience in a position presenting information in formal and informal settings preferred
  • Certified Case Manager preferred

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and administer activities related to Member Management Programs.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare delivery system and group representatives.
  • Conduct individual member assessments and coordinate case management activities.
  • Evaluate member needs and develop alternative treatment plans to maximize contract benefits and provide quality care.
  • Interpret and communicate information orally and in writing with internal and external staff.
  • Analyze information and make informed decisions independently and autonomously.
  • Present information in formal and informal settings (preferred).
  • Utilize negotiation skills in member management activities (preferred).
  • Work a flexible schedule to provide telephone coverage as needed.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Maintain licensure and participate in ongoing education.
  • Collaborate with providers, subscribers, and group representatives to support health and wellness services.
