This is an independent, field-based role where you will serve as the primary technical presence in New York City. Working closely with a local sales representative and the corporate R&D team, you will be responsible for the on-site diagnosis and resolution of hardware, software, and networking issues. During this period, the client covers all travel and hotel expenses and will put you through the EDMT certification. Requirements
- Electrical Background: A basic electrical background is a firm requirement for this position.
- Field Experience: Previous on-site experience providing technical or field support.
- Networking Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of IP networking (static IPs, subnets, DHCP).
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Mobility: A valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and residency within the five boroughs of New York City. Traveling via subway works as well, and you will be compensated for travel expenses.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support to resolve hardware, software, and electronics issues at client locations.
- Conduct site surveys for medium to large-scale projects to verify installation requirements.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and networking problems, including routers and switches.
- Perform hardware replacements, including board swaps, module replacements, and firmware updates.
- Collaborate with the New York sales representative and internal R&D teams to provide detailed field reporting.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with site mechanics and installers to ensure efficient issue resolution.
