Custodian — Facility Maintenance & Janitorial

At Tripp Electric Motors, our Custodian plays an important role in keeping our Belle Glade shop running safely and looking its best. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility, handling routine building maintenance tasks, and ensuring our team and customers always encounter a clean, organized, professional environment. Forklift operation is required for this role. Prior janitorial experience is helpful but not required — what matters most is reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to work.

What You'll Do
Cleaning and Sanitation
- Clean and sanitize restrooms in the shop throughout the day.
- Sweep and mop floors in the shop as needed.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies.
- Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning emergencies.
Facility Maintenance and Grounds
- Remove and dispose of trash daily from all areas of the facility.
- Check grounds and parking lot for trash and keep exterior areas clean.
- Replace air filters monthly.
- Perform routine building maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and reporting any repair needs to management.
- Lock and unlock gates as assigned.
Event and Safety Support
- Set up and arrange rooms for meetings, events, or special functions as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and properly handle cleaning chemicals at all times.
- Operate a forklift as needed in accordance with company safety guidelines.
What We're Looking For
Must Have:
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to operate a forklift — certification or prior experience required.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and proper safety procedures.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
Nice to Have:
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a shop, industrial, or commercial environment.
